I'm a keen hiker and fell runner and it's when I'm scampering over the historic packhorse tracks of Todmorden that I comes up with some of my best ideas. There's something about the beauty of the Pennine landscape with its stretching moorland and craggy rocks that brings a feeling of freedom and happiness that sparks creativity. When I arrive home from a run I quickly sketch my ideas while they are fresh in my mind. Then the next time I sit at my knitting machine I translate the ideas into knitted fabric. I usually find that many more ideas stem from that one swatch, my work is an ongoing story of ideas. Sat at my vintage knitting machine in my quiet studio over looking the garden with the sound of the birds tweeting is where all the creativity and magic happens!

My work has a distinctive look about it and many people say they can recognise one of my designs straight away. My design style is timeless with soft lines and key details. I concentrates on silhouette to enhance and flatter the female figure. I use the natural structure of the knit in unexpected and clever ways to create truly unique pieces.
